~Doula Services~
The word "Doula" originated in ancient Greece & simply meant "servant." In terms of childbirth, it now refers to a non-medical professional who provides continuous physical & emotional support during labor, childbirth, & immediately after. Hiring a Doula is like taking your childbirth educator with you to your birth.
Studies have shown that hiring a Doula can help reduce the use of interventions in childbirth & improves the experience overall. As a Doula, I give birth parents the information they need to make their own informed decisions & I am supportive of those decisions no matter what.

Doula Package Includes:
- One FREE interview! This is a chance for you to get to know who I am & to see if you feel I can be of help to you.
- Comprehensive prenatal visit to discuss birth choices, the many comfort measures I use, & any other concerns. We use this time to develop a written birth plan to best convey your preferences to any medical staff that you will be encountering. We will also discuss postpartum concerns & breastfeeding. This is the time to discuss what questions you have.
- Unlimited phone support before, during, & after the birth.
- Labor support begins at home in early active labor & then continues at the hospital or birth center if not giving birth at home. Support continues until about one hour after you give birth.
- A written timeline including the primary details of the birth is provided after the birth.
